한국에서는 보통 take out을 많이 사용합니다. 하지만 호주에 간다면 다른 단어를 들을 수 있습니다. 보통 카페에서 주문하고 직원이 ‘have here or take away?’라고 물어봅니다. 주문한 음식이나 음료를 가져갈 건지 먹고 갈 건지 물어보는 표현이죠. 저는 직원분께서 ‘having here or take away?’라고 물어본 경우도 있었으니 여러 가지 표현을 알고 있는 것이 도움 되겠죠? 물론 ‘for here or to go?’도 사용합니다. 아래 예문을 통해 살펴보겠습니다.
상황: 카페에서 커피를 주문하는 상황
Staff: Hello! What can I get for you?
Customer: Can I get an iced Americano, please?
Staff: Great, you've ordered one iced Americano. anything else?
Customer: That’s it.
Staff: Have here or take away?
Customer: I'll have it here, please.
상황: 제과점에서 빵을 사는 상황
Staff: Hello! What kind of bread would you like?
Customer: One slice of milk bread, please.
Staff: Alright, you've ordered one slice of milk bread. Have here or take away?
Customer: I'll have it here, please.
상황: 패스트푸드점에서 햄버거를 주문하는 상황
Staff: Welcome! What would you like to order?
Customer: I’d like a cheeseburger combo, please.
Staff: Okay, you've ordered a cheeseburger combo. Have here or take away?
Customer: Take away, please.
